You and your child should check the Student Progress Center on the district website often.

Use Remind.

Read, read, read, read, read, read, read.  The most successful students are avid readers!  Start with something on level (children's books are perfect), and climb up.  Have them read aloud for fluency.  If it's something you've read, ask them questions to check for comprehension.  Almost every children's book has an AR test.  They can rack up AR points while practicing reading.  Win-win!

Check your child's Google Classroom NIGHTLY.  There is an assignment posted in each class each day.  Have them open it and show it to you completed.  Sometimes they just press the turn-in button, but it's blank.  THEY NEED YOU!  I know you want them to learn to be independent, but if you are receiving F calls, they are not ready.  It's okay to hold their hand through middle school.  If there is a video, make sure they watch the video before doing the worksheet.

If your child cannot write well in cursive, practice.  You can find free printable worksheets online.

The Louisiana State Department of Education's website is www.louisianabelieves.com.  I had a parent help her child take all available LEAP practice tests two years ago for grades 3-8, and the student scored very well (Mastery)!

www.quill.org has lots of great grammar lessons!  I love them!

www.readworks.org has lots of great reading practice tests.

You can find oodles of resources from google searches of any skills.  There may be some pre-made tests on websites like quizzis, quizlet, or kahoot.it.
