Welcome to Mrs. Norris's class.  There are several things I want you to know about me.  I am a graduate of Valdosta State University.  I have a BS degree in Middle Grades Education. I hold a Florida teaching certificate in Middle Grades 5-9 and a Reading Endorsement for grades K-12.  I have been teaching in the Hamilton County School system since 1994.  I live in Jasper with my husband and dog Queenie. 
I am looking forward to serving as your teacher for the 2008/2009 school year.

My mission for the class it to provide quality reading strategies that will help my students develop to his/her fullest potential.  I will create a positive safe learning environment.  Technology will be used to help enrich learning and the students will use research based projects to become actively engaged in their learning process.  Progress monitoring, test scores and FAIR ASSESSMENT scores will be used to help indiviualize student academic achievement.  I also hope to maintain a positive parent/student relationship in order to help ensure academic and behavioral success.
