Contact Mr. G

I will always make every reasonable effort to respond as quickly as possible while also ensuring that each message receives the attention it deserves.
Contact Information
Email: [email protected]
Phone: (318) 322-1330, ext. 4159
Instructional / Office Hours:
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM on regular school days
Email is generally the most convenient way to contact me regarding assignments, classroom questions, academic concerns, or other matters related to your child.
Response Times
Most emails, voicemails, and other correspondence will receive a response within 1–2 business days. Messages are generally addressed in the order they are received so that I can give each student and family the appropriate time and attention. However, situations that are genuinely urgent or time-sensitive may need to be addressed sooner. If your message concerns an urgent or time-sensitive matter, please clearly indicate “URGENT” in the subject line of your email or at the beginning of your voicemail or message. This will help me identify the situation and respond as quickly as reasonably possible. Please understand that marking a message as urgent does not always guarantee an immediate response, particularly while I am actively teaching or supervising students.
Communication During the School Day
My primary responsibility during instructional hours is teaching and supporting students. Because of this, I may not be able to immediately answer emails, phone calls, or messages while classes are in session. Whenever I am in my classroom and time permits, I will do my best to review emails, voicemails, and other correspondence before or after instructional hours as well. I appreciate your understanding that there may be times when student instruction, meetings, supervision duties, planning, or other professional responsibilities prevent me from responding immediately.
Weekends, Holidays & School Breaks
To maintain clear communication expectations, please note that correspondence is generally handled during regular school business days.
Messages received during:
-
Weekends
-
School holidays
-
Scheduled school breaks
-
Teacher workdays or designated days off when I am unavailable
-
School closures
-
Other periods when school is not in regular session
may not receive a response until I return.
Upon my return, messages will be addressed as promptly as possible and generally in the order they were received, with priority given when circumstances are appropriately identified as urgent. For example, a message sent late Friday evening may not receive a response until the following school week.
Before Contacting Me About an Assignment
Students are always encouraged to begin developing appropriate self-advocacy skills.
When possible, students should first:
-
Review the directions or classroom materials.
-
Check the appropriate page of this website for resources, reminders, or class information.
-
Review their notes or examples from class.
-
Ask questions during class when the opportunity is available.
-
Contact me when additional clarification or assistance is still needed.
Students should never hesitate to ask for help. These steps are simply designed to help them develop independence and problem-solving skills while also making it easier for me to identify exactly where support is needed.
Parents & Guardians
Parents and guardians are always welcome to contact me regarding their child's:
-
Academic progress
-
Missing or incomplete assignments
-
Classroom performance
-
Learning concerns
-
Classroom behavior
-
Resources or additional support
-
Questions about assignments or assessments
-
General classroom concerns
If your concern requires a longer or more detailed conversation, we may arrange an appropriate time to speak rather than attempting to address a complex matter entirely through email.
Protecting Student Privacy
When contacting me regarding a student, please include enough information for me to understand whom the message concerns, particularly if your last name differs from your child's. For the protection of student privacy, detailed academic or behavioral information may only be shared with individuals who are authorized to receive that information.
A Note About Communication
I value respectful, open, and collaborative communication between school and home. My goal is always to work with students and families to identify concerns, answer questions, and find productive solutions. While I will make every effort to respond promptly, I also want to make sure that responses are thoughtful and accurate rather than rushed.
Thank you in advance for your patience, understanding, and partnership. I look forward to working with you throughout the school year!
