The district does not allow for extra credit to replace required work in a course.  In my courses, each student is allowed at least 20 or more grades based on percent categories as stated under Weekly Updates and Assignments. 

 

Therefore, if a student falls short of their academic potential, there is an ongoing pattern of late, inconsistent quality, or missing assignments.

 

Extra credit is provided in the homework portion of the grade where students research various scientific concepts using Google Slides.  At the end of Google Slide presentation, there are four challenges that they can complete.  It is their responsibility to learn the needed techology to complete the extra credit task for each challenge.  Each completed and correct challenge is worth 5 points for a possible total of 20 points.  This is optional and the assignment must be done by the original deadline for this opportunity. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS FOR EXTRA CREDIT!!!
