Welcome! I am Mrs. Toussaint and I am the 4th grade ELA teacher here at Minnie Ruffin Elementary. I have worked with all ages from childcare to high school. I spent the last three years as an 8th grade ELA teacher. I also coached junior high and high school track and field. I am thrilled to begin my journey in a elementary classroom! I look forward to working with you to help your child foster a love for reading and writing!

Our units this year include:

-The Whipping Boy

What was life like in Medieval Europe living under the Feudal System?

-The American Revolution

Why is it important to have civil debates?

-The Lightning Thief

How do myths and other stories help us make sense of the world?

In addition to the ELA curriculum, we also work on grammar daily.

Homework is given every night except Fridays. If there is a night I will not give homework, I will inform you in Class Dojo.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] or on Class Dojo.
