Dear Hopewell Elementary Students and Families,
I am so excited to welcome you to our new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) program! My name is Rebecca Livecchi, and just like STEAM class, I am brand new to HES. I earned my undergraduate degree in Human Development and my teaching license from Connecticut College and my MEd. from Lesley University.
I have taught for the past 9 years in schools in Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine teaching every grade from 2-6. Most recently I taught 5th grade math & science, and I am so excited to dive in to STEAM with all of you! When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking, playing with my dog, Luna, and playing ice hockey.
In STEAM, each grade level will work through tasks while using the engineering and design process, computational thinking, and coding. Students will participate in tasks related to climate change to build awareness and encourage small changes that could benefit the environment.
I cannot wait to meet all of the outstanding scientists, technicians, engineers, artists, and mathematicians at HES. I know we are going to have an incredible year in our new STEAM program!
Kindly,
Mrs. Livecchi
