Welcome to Spanish Class!

 

Hello, students and families! My name is Gustavo Verzbickis, and I am delighted to welcome you to Spanish classes at Rita L. Owens STEAM Academy. I look forward to creating a supportive, engaging classroom where students can build communication skills, explore the richness of Spanish-speaking cultures, and develop confidence as language learners.

I earned a master’s degree from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo’s Facultad de Filosofía y Letras in Mendoza, Argentina. My degree is a Professor of Secondary and Higher Education in Letters/Literature (Profesor de Enseñanza Media y Superior en Letras). My education and experiences have given me a deep appreciation for language, literature, culture, and the many ways learning a new language can connect us with others.

Throughout my career, I have taught students at all levels, including college students, both in Argentina and in the United States. I bring those experiences into the classroom while meeting each student where they are and encouraging them to grow.

I am honored to be part of the Rita L. Owens STEAM Academy community. I am here to support, serve, and partner with students and families throughout the school year. I am excited to learn together and make Spanish a meaningful and enjoyable part of every student’s education!
