Our goal every single day is to do music
in a tuneful, beat-ful, artful way!
K&1 grade music students follow the First Steps music immersion curriculum supplimented by Dalcroze methods of movement in music.
2nd grade follows the Conversational Solfege curriculum of music literacy supplimented by Dalcroze methods of movement in music, with a focus on singing and xylophone performance.
3rd grade follows Conversational Recorder curriculum supplimented by Dalcroze methods of movement in music, with a focus on singing and recorder performance.
4th Grade follows Conversational Solfege Upper Levels with a focus on singing and ukulele performance.
5th Grade follows Conversational Solfege Upper Levels with a focus on band/choir/orchestra knowledge, and performance on class-choice instruments, in preperation for middle school, supplimented by Dalcroze methods of movement in music.

Club Information:
Forms are released at the beginning of each year detailing music clubs.

Music clubs, due to limited space and instruments, are first come first served. Complete the forms as soon as possible in order to secure a spot in a music club. Submissions close when club reaches maximum capacity, or on September 8th, whichever comes first.
Fall Rhythm Club

Performances: November 20 Winter Concert and April 16 Spring Concert.

Beginning Band

5th Grade only
Inspire a love for instrumental music, foster creativity, promote social growth, belonging, community, and pursue musical excellence through performance on flute, clarinet, trumpet, or trombone. These skills set you up to be the best of the best in your middle school band program. Limited amounts of instruments are available through Ms. Gulseth first-come first-served, otherwise instruments are not provided. Please email Ms. Gulseth for details.
Required Performances: November 20 Winter Concert, April Spring 16 Concert, and optional joint performance with the Trafalgar Middle School beginning band in May.

Xylophone Ensemble

This is an advanced placement group and requires approval from Ms. Gulseth to join.

Performance of diverse repertoire alongside student music composition. Instruments provided and stay at school. Opportunities for Regional and All-State auditions.
