Expectations of Behavior for Young Mathematicians
In order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment for all LES scholars, all young mathematicians are responsible for meeting the following expectations:
- FOLLOW DIRECTIONS as they are given.
- Be prepared to ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE.
- BE RESEPECTFUL of your peers, your teacher and school property.
- When in doubt CLARIFY.
- Always DO YOUR BEST!

- 60% - 69% D
- 59% and below
Intervention-Zearn
Students are responsible for completing Zearn assignments each week. Zearn assignments may be used for grading.
- 8th Grade Math Students are responsible for 4 Zearn assignments each week.
- Algebra 1 students are responsible for 5 Zearn assignments each week.
*Zearn assignments can be completed at home through Clever*
Make-Up Work Policy
Students will be responsible for ALL make up work upon returning to class. If students miss days, they have the same number of days to make up that work. For example, if students miss 2 days, then they have 2 days to make up the work.

No alternative assignments will be given to recover missing work. Complete the assignments that have been assigned.
Day to Day Materials to be SUCCESSFUL!!!
Math Notebook (Tablet or Binder or Composition notebook)
Filler Paper
Graphing Paper
One 3-prong folders
Writing utensils (blue/black ink pen or pencil)
Scientific Calculator
Ways to Succeed in Math Class
ü Students must PARTICIPATE in the daily activities.
ü Students must TAKE NOTES.
- Notes should be ORGANIZED, CLEAN AND READABLE.
ü PRACTICE ANNOTATING questions, and PROOVING why the correct answer is correct. (SHOW YOUR WORK!)
ü COMPLETE all assignments in a timely manner. In class assignments that are started are due first thing the next day.
ü Seek UNDERSTANDING and APPLICATION instead of memorization to succeed in math.
ü LEARN from your mistakes and PLAN for improvement.
ü ATTEND tutorials to build skills and confidence in science, as well as to get additional help.
