Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to 8th Grade!

Hello! My name is Ms. Battle, and I am so excited to be your math teacher this year! This is my 6th year of teaching, and I truly love helping students build confidence in math and discover what they are capable of achieving.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, and I have always had a passion for mathematics. Ever since I was young, math has been my favorite subject, and I enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with my students every day.

This school year is especially exciting because I will be welcoming my first baby in September! I can't wait for my school family to meet the newest addition to my family.

Over the past several years, my students have demonstrated tremendous academic growth, and I am excited to continue that success with this year's class. I believe that with hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude, every student can be successful in math.  

As educators it is important that we build up our students, not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. It is my goal that my students have a safe, comfortable, and effective learning environment. I want my students to be able to not only learn from myself, but from each other as well.

My expectations for my students include:
