What Should We Work on Before the School Year Starts?
Many families want to ensure their child is well prepared to start Kindergarten. Here are a few things that you can work on with your child at home!
- Writing their Name. Students should be able to write their name with the appropriate capitalization.
- Identifying the Alphabet letters. Once your child can name all 26 capital and lowercase letters, you can begin to introduce the letters sounds.
- Counting to 20. Practice counting out loud and counting objects from 1-20.
- Writing letters and number. Provide opportunities for your child to practice writing letters and numbers with crayons, pencils, markers, in sand, with chalk, etc!
- Make learning fun!
