Arrival/Departure Times:

7:40 am-2:40 pm

Students can begin arriving to school at 7:10 am daily. Upon arrival, students are directed to the cafeteria where they can eat breakfast if they choose. Students must be in class by 7:40 am. After 7:40 am, they are considered tardy and will need a tardy pass from the front office to enter class. Dismissal begins at 2:40 pm daily.

Absences:

If your child will be absent, please let me know as soon as you can. When your child returns to school, they will need a note from a doctor, or a parent note written on the district parent form to give to the front office. If you need one these forms are found in the front office of the school.

Communication Folders:

Students will be given a communication folder that should be returned to school daily. This folder is where I will send home important information and homework. Please make sure to check this folder.

Homework:

Homework will be given Monday-Thursday to provide practice for what we are learning in class. Homework should be completed neatly and as independently as possible, but you can help your child when needed. The completed homework should be returned in your child’s communication folder each day.

Grades/Tests:

Students will have graded work during the week. Tests will be given on Fridays.

Kindergarten students earn grades of S (Satisfactory), N (Not Satisfactory), and U (Unsatisfactory).

Snacks:

Since we eat lunch early in the day, we will have a snack time. Students may bring their own snack each day. Please only send ONE snack and a drink daily.

Birthdays:

Classroom parties are held at 1:30 p.m. If you are bringing something for your child’s birthday, please let me know beforehand so that I can provide you with an accurate count of how many students are in our class. Parents can check-in at the front office to bring items to the classroom. If there are leftover items from what was sent and you want them back, please make sure to let me know.

Behavior Management:

Our behavior management system in this class focuses on positive reinforcement and helping students learn to take responsibility for their actions. Class Dojo is one system that we will be using to manage behavior. Students can earn points daily for good behavior and they can also lose points on behavior that is not helping them to make good choices. I will send home a daily behavior chart in their take home folders that parents will need to sign and return. Prizes can be earned when students make good choices. Students are also given Tiger Tickets to be used at our Tiger Store at school. The tiger tickets are positive reinforcements that students can receive from any teachers on campus when they display positive behavior. These systems help students to learn to make good choices so that we can have a safe and happy learning environment.
