My name is Ms Washington, and I’m so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! This is my 9th year teaching overall. In previous years, I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th grade. I’m so excited about all the fun we are going to have this year! I can’t wait to meet you and child!
So much fun…
First grade marks a significant, academic, and developmental step, building on kindergarten skills and introducing increased independence, more structured lessons, and a focus on foundational reading, writing, and math skills. Children learn phonics for decoding words, practice writing sentences, and develop basic math concepts like addition and subtraction. Socially and emotionally, they become more self-reliant and work on group skills like following directions and sharing.
