CLASS RULES

 

1. Show respect to everyone.

2. Remain seated, unless you have permission to do otherwise.

3. No personal grooming in class

4. Use materials properly and with respect

5. Listen carefully and follow directions the first time they are given.

6. No eating or drinking in class (except water)

 

ART CLASS PROCEDURES 

 

ENTERING THE CLASSROOM

  1. Say Good Morning or Good Evening

  2. Enter the classroom orderly and go directly to your assigned seat. 

  3. Take out your sketchbook and sharpen your pencil

  4. Check the board and follow instructions to begin your bellwork. 

 

CREATING ART

  1. Listen carefully to directions and ask questions if you don’t understand. 

  2. Use materials as directed by your teacher. 

  3. Avoid being wasteful 

  4. Be considerate of others and SHARE

  5. You must put forth an honest effort to receive an A. 

  6. Be expressive and find ways to make your art reflect you and what’s important to you. I don’t want copies! 

 

TURNING IN ART

  • All graded work is to be turned into the correct tray/space labeled with your class pd. 

  • Make sure your full name is clearly visible on the back of all artwork

  • Unnamed papers will not be graded. 

  • DO NOT place ANYTHING on my desk!

 

GOING TO THE BATHROOM

  • Please go to the bathroom between classes.

  • Bathroom Passes may be purchased for 10 PBIS points and may only be used within the first or last 10 minutes of class. 

 

FINISHING EARLY:

YOU MAY

  1. Assist other members of your group

  2. Read an AR book or a book/magazine from the community shelf. 

  3. Add more doodles to your sketchbook 

  4. Grab an early finishers activity from the bin.

  5. If you have scheduled makeup work with a teacher, that teacher must communicate that to me before you are allowed to go.

YOU MAY NOT

  1. Play on your phone or other device

  2. Talk to someone who has not finished

  3. Go to another teacher's room, the gym, the library, the office, etc. 

 

HOMEWORK: 

Contribute to your own personal growth. A few suggestions are listed below.

-try a new recipe or help your parent prepare dinner

-take a language lesson online (duolingo.com)

-write poetry, rap, music, blog, or diary

-watch a historical or scientific documentary, or art/music show (channel 13 PBS)

-visit your local library or museum

-create a small container garden

 

LEAVING CLASS

  1. I will give you time at the end of class to get ready to go. 

  2. Replace any materials you have used that do not belong to you. 

  3. Collect all your trash and dispose of it as you exit. 

  4. Do not leave until I dismiss you by saying “Adios”

  5. Say “Adios” or “Hasta luego”  

 

All materials will be provided for each art assignment, however students are welcome to donate materials at any time. An updated list of needed materials will be posted on the website and google classroom.
