Grades are broken down by assessments.  Primary assessments like tests, large writing assignments or projects will count for 45% of the grade.  Secondary assessments like graded assignments, quizzes, small writing assignments and projects will count for 35% of the grade.  The remaining 20% of the grade is made up of supportive assessments like classwork, homework and participation. 

 

Students are expected to read a novel independently over the course of each marking period. It is suggested that students read nightly, as reading is essential to the growth of the students as readers and writers.
