Grading Policy:   

• Homework/Classwork (25%): Any work that is not completed in class is to be completed for homework.
• Labs/Projects (25%): Includes lab reports, group presentations, and research activities. 
• Quizzes (20%): Both announced or unannounced will be given throughout each marking period. Usually will be given at the end of each lesson. 
• Unit Test (30%): Will be given at the end of each chapter. Also you will take a Mid Term Test and a Final Test.

 

Late Assignment Policy:

 

• If a student submits an assignment after the due date without having made arrangements with the teacher a minimum of 10 points, (based on an assignment grading scale of 100 points), will be deducted for each day that the assignment is late.

 

• Mastering Chemistry Assignments late submissions receive a 3% penalty per day.

 

 

Make-up Policy: 

• If a student is absent,
• The student must contact the teacher in order to make arrangements to make up any missed test/quiz.
• Students must check Google Classroom to review the material covered on the day they were absent. 
• Missing assignments must be completed the following day in order to receive full credit. Any work that is not made up will receive a grade of zero. 
• Mastering chemistry assignments can be taken up to 2 times for a better score. Students must complete the assignment before they can try again for a better score. 

 

Extra Help

• If students need extra help they can email me or request to meet with me after school. All students should feel comfortable asking questions whenever they feel they don't understand material that has been covered in class. Questions will be answered via email Monday through Friday from 4pm to 8pm. 
• When needed, students should attend the after-school tutoring sessions.
