Important information: 

Planners

* Every student at JCE will receive a planner.  Your child is expected to write down all of their homework daily in their planner as well as important dates, projects, and additional forms of parent/teacher communication.  

 

* Parents are expected to read the planner nightly to verify that all homework has been completed and to check for important information. 

 

 

Attendance and Make-up Work

* It is important for your child to be in school, on time every day and to stay until the end of the day. Here are the school's policies regarding attendance. 

 

* 3 unexcused tardies/early dismissals = 1 unexcused absence 

 

* Your child will not be able to make-up graded work missed on days they are absent unless it is an excused absence. This includes tests and quizzes. That means if your child has an unexcused absence on a day when we have a reading test they will receive a 0 for that test. 

 

* Students will have two days to make up work on days when they have an excused absence. Please supply the school with an absent note, if an absence occurs. 

 

 

Homework- 

* The students are expected to read for 30 minutes, complete math worksheet, Social Studies worksheet, and either Science/writing homework. Homework and any worksheet that corresponds with the homework will be posted on my webpage.  Incomplete homework will result in a zero. 

 

* The students are being held accountable for making their weekly AR. We are encouraging the students to read a chapter book. This will help to build reading stamina, which will benefit them when taking the FSA Reading/Writing. 

 

*Students are welcome to come early to class to complete homework or to receive help. I arrive on campus at 8 am. Please email me, if the student would like to come in for extra help or just to read. 

 

 

Uniform Policy

* JCE is a uniform school.  Our uniform policy is as follows.  

   * Navy blue bottoms: pants, skirts, jumpers, shorts (not athletic shorts)

   * Leggings or stockings (red, white, or navy with no designs on them)

   * Red, white, or a navy blue collared shirt (plain with no markings)

   * Belts (if pants are loose)

   * Socks

   * Sneakers

* Students who do not come in uniform will be sent to the office and parents will be called.  If there is a need for assistance in purchasing uniforms please call the school.
