Hello! I hope you’ve had a restful and enjoyable summer thus far.  My name is Jessica Comtois, and I will be your child’s fifth-grade teacher.  I am eager to get to know you and your child, and I look forward to a fantastic year!

I am married to a wonderful man, Ben Comtois and we have one son, named Austin.  After our son’s graduation from high school,  my husband and I packed up our 2 dogs and a cat to move to Florida to fulfill our dream of living in warmer weather.   Our son is living out his long, loved dream of serving his country in the United States Army, 10th Mountain Division.  He is currently stationed at Fort Drum, in New York.

I began my career in teaching working as a paraprofessional in a New York Public School District.  During that time, I was earning my BS in Human Development with a concentration in Psychology.   I completed my MS in Early Childhood, Birth to 2nd grade, and Childhood Education Grades 1-6, with Students with Disabilities ~ Triple Certification, in 2015.  I also obtained Certification in the Wilson Reading Program designed to help students with low reading ability and/or Dyslexia.

I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with your child this year.  The goal for this year is to “love” reading, be creative, incorporate technology, and build a strong desire to want to learn more as a whole group, as well as individually.
