Good afternoon!  I am sending this home as a guide to what will be expected during the year.  If you would like to get in touch with me please use either Parentsquare or my email address above and I will answer during school time within 24 hours.  You can also visit my website under the Parent tab on the TES website.  There you will find the google classroom codes, schedules and projects.  Students will be signed into google classroom on their chromebooks within the first two weeks of school.

ART:

  1.  Absences:  Students are expected to make up the assignment in the next class period.  If there are excessive absences the assignment will be sent home to be completed.  Standardized Grades:  1 = missing;  2 = incomplete

  2.  Grading:  1 - Missing assignment  2 - Incomplete or below grade level standards  3 - Completed according to the standards  4 - Above grade level expectations and standards for the curriculum

  3. Participation Grades are given each month.  They are for cooperation with the teacher and peers; best effort  and all around participation in the lesson during class.  Participation means that they are trying their best at all times to expand their knowledge base regarding art and world language.  Students are expected to work on their assignments to the best of their ability for the entire class period.  Participation grades are posted at the end of each month in the Oncourse parent portal.

  4. Smocks - I will not be providing smocks.  I do this for health reasons (i.e., spreading germs).  I also have no place to store them even if a student wants to bring one to school.  Therefore, please make sure your child is not in good clothing on art day.  It typically works out that they are fine without them.  If they do get a little something on their clothing then a little dish detergent on the spot and wash it that day and it’s fine.  I promise for Picture Day, Special Occasions or Halloween I will not do anything where they would get dirty.
