We Love To Read In 1B!
Your child will be bringing a reading folder home. The Reading Folder will include a couple of important things that need to stay in the folder from day to day and returned to school daily.
Reading Books (or passages) to practice- Please take a few minutes each night to read these books we are working on during our Guided Reading Time. These books should be sent back to school in your child's reading folder daily, whether you were able to read them or not.
Reading Log Optional - Feel free to log all of the great books you are reading at home, even if they are not sent home from me. You can keep this log in your child's reading folder. This is not required but the kids really love seeing ALL the books they've read. You can print some right here!
Here is a simple form for printing- ReadingLog

Fluency Practice - Your child may have some Fluency Practice Sheets in his/her reading folder throughout the year. These can be read for fluency practice and kept in their reading folder.
Sight Word sheets or cards- Sight Words are basically words that need to be memorized by sight. They don't always follow the Rules Of Phonics so you can't always sound them out. I will also be sending home a few words with our spelling. Here is the list we will be using.
