For word study, children will be completing a variety of word work activities in the
classroom using these words during centers.
In addition, a monthly "Spelling Menu Packet" will be sent home in the back of your child's "Take Home" folder so children have a choice of activities to choose from for homework.
Your child is responsible to keep their words in a safe place at home.
Your child will pick a minimum of 2 activity per week. Encourage them to pick different activities during the month. Since all children learn at different paces, some words may require more practice each week. Practice is due by each Friday but may be turned in on any day. Since many activities are hands on it is not necessary to send pictures or notes regarding the activity they chose.
Keep these menus safe in the back of the take home folder so you're sure to have them each week. I have attached a copy of different activities to print on the bottom of this page if you're looking for some more tactile ideas.
