What kind of homework can I expect?
Homework is given every night in Language Arts. It is given weekly in Social Studies. Assignments may require reading, writing, studying, or a combination. Written homework is expected to be brought to class on time, on the day it is due. Approximately twice a month, students will have a graded Reading Response letter in Language Arts. This assignment will count among several standards.
What if I forget my homework?
Graded homework will only be accepted up to one week late. After this, the work will be considerd missing and a zero will stand in the gradebook. Homework that is not graded will only be accepted up to one day late for credit. Extensions will be given for absences or unforseen circumstances and will be communicated with the student and/or parent.
Students will have a one-month "grace period" as they transition into their new routine, where they can go back to homeroom at the start of class to get any homework or supplies they may have forgotten. Homeroom students will be able to return to the closet during this "grace period" to get what they need. This is a Team 4-4 policy.
What if I'm absent and missed the homework?
Students will have one day, for each day absent, to turn in missed work. This is district policy. Mrs. Tier will go over missed assignments when the student returns to class. Ample time will be given to make up tests after returning from an absence.
