Hi! My name is Tricia Tier. This will be my 23rd year teaching at the Samsel Upper Elementary School. I'm so lucky because I've been teaching at the SUES since the school opened. It is truly my "second home". I taught Math for a few years when I first started teaching. I have been teaching Language Arts for nineteen years and Social Studies for twelve years. It's the perfect fit for me since I love reading, writing, and learning about history. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Mount Saint Mary's University and my Master's Degree in Education from Georgian Court University. In 2019 I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year at the SUES.
I grew up in Freehold Township and briefly lived in Middlesex County, as well as Baltimore, Maryland. I currently live with my husband and daughter in Monmouth County. In addition to teaching, I am also passionate about fitness and nutrition and am in the process of becoming a certfied personal trainer. When I'm not in the classroom or the gym, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, watching Netflix documentaries, and working on crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. My favorite vacation spots are Italy and North Carolina.
