About the Teacher
Welcome to music class! This is my 21st year teaching music at Arleth School. Prior to teaching here I attended Montclair State University and received a B.A. in Music Education. I began playing music around the age of 6 with a small keyboard, a play-a-long cassette (if you are a student, you can ask your parents what a cassette is) and very patient, noise tolerant parents. In the 5th grade I learned the alto saxophone and played in the school band through middle school and high school. The saxophone was the instrument I studied and performed on in college as well. In 2002 our college band toured and performed in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.
I feel that music is important for every student to learn and reaches almost every area of our life. I enjoy teaching elementary school students and giving them a solid musical foundation that they can take with them through life.
Outside of school I work as a music director at a church where I play the piano and direct the different choirs. I am a fan of the NY Yankees and like anything having to do with Peanuts and Snoopy. I also teach CPR and First Aid classes and volunteer as an EMT on our town's first aid squad.
