My name is Mrs. King. I am SO happy to be a part of the Hillside Intermediate family! I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students at Hillside.

 

I got my BA from Rutgers University in Criminal Justice and Sociology. After working at a law firm for a few years, I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I graduated from Montclair State University with my MAT in Elementary Education and Special Education. I taught computers to grades K-4 in Green Brook before coming to Bridgewater-Raritan Regional. I am a Level 1 and 2 Google Certified Teacher. I have been teaching at Hillside since 2015!

 

I live in Branchburg with my husband, my sons Wyatt and Connor, and 2 cats (Tigger and Toby). I love to read, go to the beach, and would love to learn to knit!

 

We will be very busy this year in technology class! Digital Citizenship will be covered in both 5th and 6th grade. The 5th graders will be introduced to coding and robotics using Lego WeDos and Scratch. We will also be covering the Engineering Design Process. The 6th graders will be doing hands-on activities with robotics using Lego EV3s. We will also be learning about engineering principles using littleBits and creating 3D designs with Tinkercad. Typing.com will be used to practice typing in both 5th and 6th grades.
