  Mrs. Krisi Key

Hi!, My name is Krisi Key, I am excited to start my first year as a Cypress Point Elementary School Gator!!

After graduating from LA Tech in 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education, I began teaching in 2010 at Farmerville High School as an English Teacher. I taught 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English, 11th grade honors English, and 9th and 10th resource English classes.

After taking a year off from teaching following three years in Farmerville I came to Monroe City Schools. I started at Martin Luther King Jr. Junior High School in 2014. While at MLK, I received my Master's Degree in Special Education from LA Tech in 2016. I taught both 7th and 8th grade ELA classes, including honors classes. In 2018, I moved to the Special Education Department and began teaching Study Skills Classes. I closed up my ten years at MLK teaching 7th grade English again, focusing on students with special needs.

My husband David and I have been together for twenty-six years and have three children; Trent, 28, who is a dispatcher at LKQ in Monroe, Courtney, 25, who is a Miniso store manager in Kansas, and Mark, 20, who is a visual arts student at AIE in Lafayette. We also have two granchildren; Mia, 8, who lives here in Monroe and is starting 3rd grade at Sallie Humble, and Jackson, 6, who lives in Kansas and will be starting Kindergarten at Apache Elementary.

I am currently working on my Doctorate Degree at ULM and working toward my Educational Diagnostician Licence. I also love singing, crocheting, playing with my grandbabies, playing with my dogs, cats, and various other pets, or riding motorcycles with my husband.
