What is the Targeted Intervention Plan (TIP)?

TIP is a team process being implemented in HVRSD at K-5 levels. Screenings for reading are conducted three times per year. This is called Universal Screening and is done to evaluate the effectiveness of our curriculum and instruction and to be sure students are on track to meet achievement benchmarks. Students who are not meeting benchmark are provided additional instruction and their progress in monitored. Data is used to make decisions about continuing the intervention, or providing more or different intervention. The TIP team makes a plan about intervention specifically designed for the student, and further intervention is provided.
