SB Week of Respect
Monday, 10/6: Wear something that makes you feel happy & confident to show respect for yourself.
Wednesday, 10/8: Wear green for our first walk/bike-to-school day to show respect for the Earth.
Thursday, 10/9: Field Trip to Terhune Orchards. Please have your child wear a yellow shirt.
Friday, 10/10: Wear Stony Brook shirt or blue & white to show respect for others & SB.
Monday, 10/13: No School~Staff Development Day
Monday, 10/20: No School~Diwali
Friday, 10/17: Scarecrow Day~Dress like a scarecrow!
Friday, 10/31: Halloween celebration and school parade.

Health Guidelines for our District: Please do not send your child to school if they have:

A fever of 100.0 or more. Children must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicine before returning to school.

Vomiting/diarrhea. May return 24 hours after symptoms resolve and when tolerating regular diet

An infectious skin condition - For open or draining lesions, exposed areas must remain covered while at school. A physician’s note stating the condition is no longer contagious may be required by the school nurse in order for the student to return to school.

A continuous cough and/or runny nose if the cough is such that it interferes with their ability or the ability of others to concentrate on school work and the student cannot manage the runny nose.

Strep throat - Students may not return to school until fever free for 24 hours and at least 12 hours after antibiotic therapy has begun and student is able to participate in activities
