I have been teaching in the Hillside Public Schools for 22 years. I've been blessed to be a part of the A.P. Morris family since our Early Childhood Center opened. Working with young children has always been very rewarding for me.  I have two boys of my own and I can't believe how fast they have grown. My oldest son Gregory is 17 years old. He plays competitive ice hockey and baseball. He enjoys serving his  community as a sacristan and member of the youth group. Greg is excited to be a senior and he is looking forward to many college visits this fall. My 14 year old Joseph celebrates being a freshman this year. Joey is proud to be a boy scout.  He recently climbed Mount Washington to reach a height of 6,288 feet!  He shares the same love of sports that his brother has. However, baseball is definitely his game. Of course, my husband and I are Greg and Joe's biggest fans. The boys keep us very busy and we love spending time together.  We have the most fun when we're traveling to new places and spending time with friends.

Teaching children to read has become my passion! Many families in Hillside know me as a former Reading Recovery teacher, or remember me as an Even Start Family Literacy Program home educator.  I returned to the Kindergarten classroom three years ago after 7 amazing years as a reading intervention teacher working primarily with Hillside's first graders. It has been motivating to see the success of our students, and to know that I have made a difference. I am proud to be a part of a dynamic Kindergarten team and I am thankful to have the opportunity to use my background in literacy development with some of our youngest learners. I have always enjoyed working closely with my students, and collaborating with their families. My goal is to be a nurturing and supportive coach for our children, as I work to meet their individual learning needs. It is my hope that my students will enjoy learning and grow to love reading as much as I do. Reading is power!

If you miss, you'll land among the stars!"
