Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to third grade! I am so excited to be your child's third grade teacher this year!
I hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable summer so far. I spent my summer spending time with my family down the shore and lots of park trips with my daughters Maisie and Eden. We also took a trip to Spain and Portugal! As much as I enjoyed myself, I am counting down the days until the beginning of the school year so I can meet all of you!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education with masters degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education. While I was in graduate school, I completed my student teaching at Milltown. I realized how special the students, staff, and school culture are at Milltown, and I knew I wanted to be a Mountain Lion for life! After graduation, I accepted a position at Milltown, and I have been working here ever since. I taught first grade for eight years, and this will be my third year teaching third grade. I love being a part of the Milltown family and working with my amazing students!
This year in third grade will be filled with many memories, adventures, and exciting opportunities to learn and explore the world around us. My goal is to facilitate a classroom environment where each student will achieve success and become a confident learner. Through partnerships between home and school, I know that together we will make this year spectacular! I will send frequent emails about classroom happenings, as well as update this website regularly with classroom news and events.
The first day of school will be Wednesday, September 4, 2024. We will have afternoon snack each day, so please remember to pack your child a healthy snack (yogurt, cheese stick, fruit, veggies, etc.). I will not be providing utensils in the classroom, so please remember to pack them for your child if they will need them.
Please bring the following items on the first day of school:
*Please bring a photo of yourself (4" x 6" please) from your summer adventures. It can be a picture with your family or just by yourself. We will share our pictures and our favorite summer memories during the first two weeks of school as we get to know one another and build our classroom community.
*We will be using our classroom computers on a daily basis. Please send in earbuds, labeled in a baggie with your child's name, to be used during computer time. Earbuds are preferred to larger headphones, since the larger headphones tend to break easily and are harder to store. The ear buds will be returned at the end of the school year. You can purchase ear buds at Five Below, Walmart, TJ Maxx, etc., or send in a pair you already have at home.
