Welcome back to school! My name is Cindy Moreno and I will be your child’s 5th & 6th  grade teacher!  I look forward, with much pleasure, to teach your child this school year. So you can have a full appreciation of what we will accomplish in the classroom this year, I would like you to know my philosophy of education.

• I believe children should not be humiliated, hurt, or embarrassed.

 

• I believe a child’s self-esteem should be nurtured tenderly.

 

• I believe my job is to teach until a child learns, rather than punish until learning takes place.

 

• I want all children to enjoy the learning process, and I want to help them to develop their motivation for learning. I hope to do my best to encourage your child to succeed in their attempts to learn.

 

I believe that modeling is the most powerful way to affect a child’s learning. Please model the love for learning at home as I will do at school. I know that we all have busy schedules, but I hope that you will encourage your child to read everynight.
