OUR SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021
My name is Lisa Affortunato and I am thrilled to be your child's 4th grade teacher this school year! While this is a very different school year that is ahead of us, I believe that with working together and following the protocols in place, we can have a fun year of learning and growing.
I have been an educator, in the East Rutherford School District, for ten years now and couldn't imagine a more rewarding and enjoyable career. In 2005, I graduated from Fordham University with a BA degree in Journalism. After working in the Advertising industry for five years, I decided to follow my passion and work toward earning my teaching degree. Graduating from Felician University years ago, I earned certifications to teach students from grade K-5, students with disabilities and Middle School Language Arts.
As we begin this school year together, it is important to remember how working together creates a relationship that is healthy and rewarding for your child. It is my goal to help your child reach their goals in fourth grade as well as be confident, happy and ready as they look toward their transition to middle school soon.
