Recovery for Children and Teenagers -
If a child you know, from ages 3 to 17, is suffering from grief, GRC can help.
Children and teenagers often experience and cope with grief differently than adults. Memories of traumatic events can reoccur throughout childhood and adolescence, although a child or teenager may put on a "brave face" in an attempt to hide their feelings and avoid upsetting the adults around them. This suppressed grief can surface symptomatically as anger, temper tantrums, problems at school, trouble sleeping, decreased activity, isolation and fearful or clinging behavior.
Call to schedule individual or group sessions with either a licensed clinical social worker or licensed professional counselor.
Insurance, including Medicaid, is accepted; free sessions may be available.
Bereavement Support Groups for Adults -
If you or someone you know is suffering from grief and would benefit from being with others who are grieving, GRC can help.
Grief can be a very lonely and isolating experience. You just don't feel like socializing, especially when friends don't understand what you're going through. It's hard to put on a "happy face" and you feel awkward crying in front of others. Being in the company of others who understand because they are also grieving can offer comfort and hope-you don't feel so alone.
Call to find a bereavement support group that is right for you. Support groups are facilitated by an LCSW, an LPC, qualified staff, or a trained volunteer.
All support groups are free.

Tuesday bereavement support group offered in collaboration with St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
