LEAP 2025/End of Course (EOC) Testing
End-of-Course Tests
High school students take LEAP 2025/End-of-Course tests in the following subjects:
9th Grade:
Algebra I LEAP 2025
English I LEAP 2025
10th Grade:
Geometry LEAP 2025
English II LEAP 2025
Biology LEAP 2025
11th Grade:
English III EOC (graduating class of 2019 & 2020 only)
U.S. History LEAP 2025
Student scores are categorized into the following achievement levels on the End-of-Course tests:
- Excellent: A student demonstrates superior performance of the course content.
- Good: A student demonstrates mastery of course content and is well prepared for the next level of coursework in the subject.
- Fair: A student demonstrates only the fundamental knowledge and skills needed for the next level of coursework in the subject.
- Needs Improvement: A student does not demonstrate the fundamental knowledge and skills needed for the next level of coursework in the subject.
Student scores are categorized into the following achievement levels on the LEAP 2025 tests:
- Advanced
- Mastery
- Basic
- Approaching Basic
- Unsatisfactory
LEAP 2025/End-of-Course tests comprise 15% of the student’s final grade in the subject.
To earn a standard high school diploma, students must earn a score of Fair or above on the End-of-Course tests or Approaching Basic or above on LEAP 2025. Must pass one from each category below:
1. Algebra I or Geometry
2. English II or English II or English III (c/o 2019 & 2020 only)
3. Biology or U.S. History
Students who earn a score of Needs Improvement (EOC) or Unsatisfactory (LEAP 2025) are able to retake the test at the next administration.
