CLASSROOM\GRADING POLICY Vex Robotics II
Course Description:
In this course students have to opportunity to work on special projects using Arduino technology as well as Vex Robots. They will utilize the knowledge acquired in Vex Robotics I and learn the fundamentals of coding in C++. Initially students will write simple programs that will eventually grow into fully blown object oriented applications. Students will learn about the concepts of variables, loops, decisions, structures, functions, inheritance, operator overloading. The course also touches on a variety of other language features, e.g. comments, arithmetic operators, the increment operator, data conversion, header files, library functions.
Attendance
It is mandatory as per school regulation. Because of the interactive nature of the classroom, absences will seriously affect your performance throughout the course therefore affecting your grade. You are responsible for making up any missing work due to absences.
Participation
Your participation in class discussions and activities will affect that score positively or negatively.
Tardiness
Tardiness is unacceptable; it is both rude to your classmates and myself and it is disruptive to the learning process going on in the classroom. Note that I will not remind you of this, but I will keep track of those who repeatedly transgress and it will detract from your participation grade in addition to detention.
Cellular phones
iPADs, kindles , tables, etc., are disruptive devices and should not be used during class. No cell phones may be used AT ALL during class. Use of any such device may result in an automatic detention.
Late work
Late papers and late assignments are unacceptable. A paper turned in after the due date will automatically be marked down an entire letter grade. Assignments turned in more than 24 hours late can be marked down further at the discretion of the teacher. Exceptions can be made as the circumstances require.
Food in the classroom
No food will be allowed in the classroom at any time.
