Text Connections
Students should be reading and understanding what they read. When they make connections with what they are reading (text) they are connecting and understand more clearly. This can be a connection to their own life (text-to-self), another piece of text they have read (text-to-text), or something that may be going on the in word around them (text-to-world). They are encouraged to stop & think at various points of reading make connections.
