Grading Policy & Extra Help

Available- I will be available for extra help daily during lunch or after school. Any questions or extra help needed is welcomed at that time.

Make-up Work- If you are absent it is your responsibility to make up all work within three days.  Three days are offered so you have time to learn the material.  All work is available on my Google Classroom.  Please ask me or ask a reliable class buddy to understand what was covered.  If you were out for three or more days please see me so we can work out a plan for you to get caught up with the material

If you know in advance that you are going away, let me know.  I will work with you ahead of time, so when you get back you are not behind.

Grades-  Your quarter grades will be calculated from tests, quizzes, independent work, and classwork.  All assignments must be complete and you must show all work to receive credit.

1. Summative (55 %) There will be quizzes, a review and test for each chapter.  Please remember ask questions about a lesson or independent work when needed prior to the quiz or test.

2. Formative (40%) There will be graded assignments and IXL for each chapter.

3. Personal Responsibility (5%)    Independent work- Independent work is needed for practice and is a good indication that you understood a lesson.  To get credit for doing the work you must attempt ALL problems and show ALL work.  The missed assignment should be completed by that chapter’s test to ensure you understand the material.  Notebook- Included in this area is maintaining a good notebook.  Keepng a good notebook helps ensure a strong foundation for all future maths.

4. Test Prep (0%) This catagory has NO value and will have NO effect on your child's grade.

I use the Parent Portal and update it often.  You may see a category labeled, ‘Test Prep’.  This category has no value and will not affect your grade.  Please let me know if you are having any difficulties with Parent Portal.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns with any of the above information.
