     I strive, as an educator, to help my students develop a passion for learning, one that they will carry with them all the days of their lives.  In my classroom each person is valued and treated with respect.  As a humanist, I educate the whole child and do all that I can to build up their self-esteem and feelings of value and belonging.  School is something that kids should enjoy and look forward to.  I try to make each day fun and exciting, while still setting the bar high for learning and great behavior.

 

     I rely heavily on data to meet my students at their level and help them advance academically throughout the year.  No one starts at the same level, and no one ends the year at the same level as their peers.  I really try to individualize instruction.  Goal setting is pertinent to success and I help my students recognize where they are and what they need to do in order to advance to the next level.  We work as a team, and over time, if the children develop a sense of personal responsibility and maintain a good work effort, they will make great academic strides.

 

     Everyone creates their own life path to follow and I have always considered it a true blessing to have a career which enables me to be able to share a year in the life of your child and help them learn and grow.
