COURSE DESCRIPTION (DUAL ENROLLMENT):
 
This course introduces students to basic communication theory and public speech performance skills. Emphasis is on researching, organizing, outlining, evaluating, and delivering informative, demonstrative, and persuasive speeches.
 

Course Learning Outcomes/Objectives: 

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

1. Identify and apply basic speaking principles.

2. Analyze audiences, choose and research topics, organize speeches, and cite sources to support their speaking purpose(s).

3. Deliver speeches in a variety of styles using effective verbal and nonverbal behaviors.

4. Implement effective strategies to manage public speaking anxiety.
