Welcome to English IV College Prep 

 

Welcome to English IV College Prep! Our class focuses on the analysis of arguments in text and constructing your own argument via research. Your research paper is the culmination of this work.  

 

Concurrently, students will work with vocabulary acquisition and techniques to improve reading comprehension, as well as SAT prep.

 

Words of the Week (words from the SAT)--Students receive them on TUESDAY and have a quiz on them the followign TUESDAY.  Students will work through 12 units.

 

SSR--Sustained Silent Reading (Choice Reading)--Students will read a book or books on their chosen research topic.  The assessment will be part of the research grade. 

 

 

In addition to all of that, as your navigate your way through junior year, continuing to lay the path for your post-graduation goals, I am here to help!  As young adults, I expect you to reach out whenever you foresee a problem.
