LEARNING INTENTIONS: Apply your understanding of Europe's system of social & political feudalism during the Middle (Dark) Ages to analyze the causes of the Renaissance Era
SUCCESS CRITERIA: (I CAN:)
- explain how the feudal system and the Church dominated life in Europe during this period.

- connect the wealth generated from trade allowed for patronage of the arts and education.
- describe the fall of Constantinople in 1453 and how scholars fled to Italy with ancient Greek and Roman manuscripts.
- explain the concept of humanism and its impact on how people lived

1. Explain the role/actions of the Catholic Church prior to the Renaissance
2. Understand the word "reform"
3. Identify what happened (IDEAS/INVENTIONS) during the Protestant Reformation
4. Analyze the complaints against the Catholic Church & how those ideas spread
