A

100

All sections of the report are complete, well-written, and thoughtful.  The report adheres to all requirements of the assignment, includes details, and relevant vocabulary.  The report is neatly written or typed in the requested format.  Errors are scarce and minor.

All of the 100% criteria are present, but the report has one minor conceptual error or some minor errors exist throughout the report. 

B

89

All of the 100% criteria are present, but the report contains one or two conceptual errors and/or the report lacks detail and relevant science vocabulary.

82

All requirements of the report are not present.  The report contains one major or several minor conceptual errors.  Responses lack detail or relevant science vocabulary.  Report neatness or presentation is lacking.  (The report turned in was one date late.)

C

75

Sections of the report are incomplete or missing.  Numerous major or minor conceptual errors exist throughout the report.  Responses are scant and/or not in complete sentences.  Report neatness and presentation is severely lacking.  A lack of understanding or effort is apparent.

D

65

The report is grossly incomplete and/or largely incorrect.  The report shows a severe lack of understanding or effort.

60

The report shows no attempt at understanding or effort.

F

50

The report was turned in more than one day past the due date.

0

The report was not turned in to the teacher.

 

*Lab reports and projects are part of the Challenge Grade which is worth 70% of your final grade.  Always hand lab reports in on time, so that you receive full credit for your work.  Lab reports or projects will be accepted one day late with a maximum grade of 82%.  Work turned in more than one day late will receive partial credit.

 

*Lab partners are expected to work together.  Each lab partner is responsible for recording notes and data from the activity.

 

*Lab reports are individual assignments unless otherwise indicated by your teacher. 

Projects may be group assignments.
