ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY is a six credit elective lab science for students in grades eleven and twelve who have successfully completed Academic Biology. The program is designed for the college preparatory student who is considering a college major in the fields of science which offers the student exposure to the anatomy and physiology of the human body. The development of laboratory procedures, and dissections of the frog and fetal pig are all required segments of this program. A notebook and written lab work are part of the student's’ major requirements for this course. In addition, vocabulary and career units are infused into the program. Student grades are based primarily on tests, quizzes, homework, projects, class participation, and marking period assessments.
GRADING POLICY:
1) Tests: 30% of the grade
Tests will be given at the end of every unit
2) Quizzes: 25% of the grade
Quizzes will occur at different times throughout the chapter and be related to anything done in class
-Quizzes may be unannounced!!!
3) Labs: 20% of the grade
Reports will be written for all labs
4) Homework/Classwork: 25% of the grade
Homework will include worksheets, lab reports, questions from the book, and other various assignments
Homework is due the day after it is assigned unless otherwise stated
DO YOUR HOMEWORK-it’s the easiest part of your grade
Small group activities will occur at times
Grades for group work will be given as a group(make sure everyone does their part)
Classwork will be done in class and due at the end of the period
