Dear 5th Grader!

Welcome to Eisenhower School! I would like to introduce myself as your fifth-grade Language Arts (ELA) teacher, Mrs. Knitowski. I am looking forward to meeting you and hearing all about your exciting summer adventures.

Every summer we like to send you a welcome letter and suggested school items, to help you start the school year off. Some families like to purchase various school supplies so I have come up with a list of suggested items just in case. These are only suggested items that might help you prepare your shopping list for the upcoming school year. After reading the list, should you have any questions, please wait until the first week of school to purchase any materials. This way I can answer any questions you may have about the material.

Organizational Suggested Materials

-1 BLUE plastic folder labeled "Reading and Writing" (Your name) Room #612 Mrs. Knitowski

-1 Homework Folder (can be shared for all subjects labeled with your name and homeroom teacher)

                        Mrs. Knitowski #612 ELA

                        Mrs. Hurley #615 Math/Science/Social Studies

*Please note, that the material above will be provided to your child. These are not materials that are necessary to purchase. Only if your child wants to pick out their own ahead of time, these are suggested folder colors. The teacher will provide a blue paper folder if needed.*

There will be a few minutes to consume your snack during period 3.  Pack a healthy and easy to eat snack daily.

All other materials such as #2 pencils, markers, pens, paper, folders, etc. will be available to all students throughout the school year. If you feel more comfortable having your own supplies, that is fine too. I look forward to beginning a new school year with you in September. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
