Week of 4/22/24

 

Friday - 4/26 - Mom's please send in a picture of you and your son/daughter for a project.

 

Monday - 4/29 - birdwatching - If you have binoculars please bring to school .  Our class will be walking around outside for some bird watching.

 

Wednesday, 5/22 - Holmdel Park Trip -Students DO NOT come to school that day. We will meet at the park at the top of the hill (by playground) at 9:00am.At least ONE parent/guardian/grandparent must attend. Siblings are welcome. Please bring any food or snacks they may want, as well as blankets, chairs, toys & don't forget sunscreen. Please return permission slip by May 1st.

 

Friday-Monday, 5/24-5/27 - No School. Memorial Day Weekend

 

Friday - 5/31 - Early Dismissal - 12:00 noon. Snack is NOT needed

 

Monday - 6/3 - Walking trip to Ralph's Ice. This trip is for students only. We will walk to Ralph's Ice as a class during our regular school day.  Permission slip will be sent home.

 

*Promotion Day will be Tuesday, June 11th. More information to come*

 

REMINDER

 

If your child stays for extended care he/she must have a DISPOSABLE snack in a paper bag labeled with their name.  This also includes a DISPOSABLE water. If your child does not stay regularly please send a note that morning letting me know they are staying and please take note of the new way of bringing snack.

 

Our catepillars have arrived!! Throughout the weeks the boys and girls will learn and observe the life cycle of the butterfly and watch them turn into beautiful butterflies.  We will then as a class let them free!!

 

 

We will be introducing the letter "Ww" this week with alpha friend Willy Worm  They will recognize its sound and learn how to write the letter "Ww", as well as come up with a list of "Ww" words. On Friday, they will bring home the letter book "Willy Worm".  Please put these books in a ziplock bag so they can be kept safe.  Please review these books with your child, as well as practice writing their first and last name. 

 

Communication is very important to your child's success. Please feel free to contact me at the above email at any time if you have any questions or concerns.  I will not be able to get back to you until the end of the school day, which is after 3pm.

 

LUNCH

 

Please send in a lunch that you child is able to finish on their own.  Be sure to send their lunch with two napkins; we use one for a placemat and one is to be used when they finish their lunch.

 

RECESS

 

We will go out for recess everyday unless it is too cold or raining. Please have your child dressed appropriately for the weather and always wear closed toe shoes.  If your children come to school with rain or snow boots they need to have shoes to change into for the day.
