AR Grading and Due Date Information
- Students will be required to participate in accelerated reading (AR) this school year.
- Although students will take the Star Reading Test to determine their reading levels, students will be allowed to read outside of their tested range if they so choose.
- AR will be worth 10% of the points possible for each nine week grading period.
- Students must earn 15 AR points each nine weeks in order to receive their 10% grade.
- Students will only be allowed to have 2 "free" AR tests each nine weeks. This means that students will only be allowed to score below the 60% requirement two times. Students will be "locked out" of the AR program for the rest of the 9 weeks after earning less than 60% on 2 tests.
- Once a student has met their nine week requirement, they will be allowed to take extra AR tests if they choose to do so.
- Students will be allowed to take AR tests during the following times:
1. On the day their class visits the library.
2. Before school in the computer lab on Tuesday and Thursday morning.
3. Before school in the library lab on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning
