Books may be checked in or out and AR tests may be taken in the library before school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning beginning at 7:00 AM. Additionally, students can come to the library the first ten minutes and last 10 minutes of any class hour to check books in or out.
The computer lab is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings beginning at 7:00 AM for students to take Accelerated Reader tests and check AR points.
ELA classes will come to the library every two weeks with their teacher.
Only 1 book can be checked out to a student unless other arrangements are made by the student with the librarian.
Books are checked out for a two week period and must be returned on or before the date they are due.
A charge of 10 cents per day will accrue for all late books until the book has been returned; weekends and holidays are not counted.
A student cannot check out another book if he/she has an overdue book or an outstanding fine.
If a student loses or damages a library book or textbook, he/she must pay for the school to replace it.
If a student leaves his/her library book at home, in the classroom, or has lost a book, he/she must copy library guidelines during a reading class visit.
Before a book is reported as lost, students should be sure to look everywhere for it including at home, in their teachers’ classrooms, and the lost and found. Please be aware that once a book has been paid for, a refund cannot be given even if the book is found and returned.
If you find a library book around campus and you are unsure who it belongs to, bring it to the library or turn it in to your teacher.
If a student is absent when his or her ELA class comes to the library, it is the student’s responsibility to visit the library the next day in order to renew or return their book and/or check out a new one.
Students are expected to maintain proper behavior while in the library. This includes, but is not limited to, being respectful while others are speaking, pushing your chair in anytime you are away from your table, speaking only at a whisper while at the shelves, and reading your library book or a magazine while seated at your table. Neglecting to maintain proper behavior will result in punish work or an office referral depending on the severity of the offense.
Respect and protect all books checked out from our library. If a book is damaged, destroyed, or lost, it may take months for it to be replaced.
If you are not reading the book you have checked out, return it to the library ASAP! Please be considerate of other students that may be waiting for your book to be returned.
