    This week we will be working on words with the "ou" and "ow" sound.  You will see that their Phonics/Spelling list has words with those sounds. On Friday, May 16, after a review of all words, I will be calling some of these words and the children will be expected to write these words. The last three words on the test will be review words, but it will not be words from the Phonics/Spelling list. This way I can further assess how they are doing with the star sounds of the week.

 

Also, we will be working on "Words to Read" (sight words).  There will be a test on these words on Friday, May 16.  These words will be within sentences. We will be reading and reviewing all of these words during the week. Flashcards are a great way for children to review their words nightly.

 

 We will also be working on vocabulary words this week. We will be using these words to answer real-life questions during the week. Please encourage your child to use these words in every-day conversations. We will be taking a test on these words on May 15.  The children will find the correct vocabulary word that goes in the sentence, which will be read aloud by me.
