WAYS TO GET INVOLVED AT HILLSIDE:
*Hillside Chorus - Chorus takes place during the regular school day and does not impact any other class time. Please check out this online Welcome Brochure about Hillside's Chorus program. Once your child has decided to register for chorus, electronic registration is preferred using https://dub.sh/HawkSing24. Paper forms are available in the music rooms. For more information, please contact Mr. Sgro at [email protected].
*Student Council - Our Student Council is recruiting students to run for election this year. In the past, students have represented their homerooms and participated in a number of school-wide and community projects. We held fundraisers to benefit programs such as the Elle Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House. The Student Council will promote school spirit and involve students in the school and local community. Each homeroom will hold an election to select two representatives for the class. More information to come in September.
*Newspaper Club - Members serve as reporters, photographers, illustrators, editors, publishers, and more for our school newspaper. The Herald will be published twice this year affording ample opportunities for club members, to conduct interviews, write opinion pieces or poetry, write news stories reporting on school activities, create comic strips or puzzles, and more. Meetings will be held in the morning before school once per month, starting on October 11. However, much of the work is done independently and only requires check-ins with the advisor. Please complete the attached registration form. Registration closes on September 30. Meeting dates are October 11, November 15, December 13, January 10, February 7, March 14, April 11, May 9, and June 6. Please note, all activity fees have been waived by the District. There is no cost to participate in this club.
*Roots & Shoots Club:
All students are invited to the Roots & Shoots informational meeting on Wednesday, September 18 after school from 3:45 to 4:30pm. If your student plans to stay after school, please submit a change in dismissal form through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The Roots & Shoots registration form is available here.
