Method of Evaluation in each Marking Period
- 40% PROJECTS: Students are expected to complete all classroom assignments by the deadline and make-up any work they have missed while absent. If you are falling behind, it is your responsibility to work on your assignment at home, in free periods, or during your lunch period. Work habits, creativity, growth and originality, craftsmanship, and composition and design are crucial factors for satisfactory achievement. Grades are based on the level the student has achieved in classroom goals and objectives in a particular experience.
- 50% CLASS PARTICIPATION: Students are expected to be on time for class and prepared for daily class activity, work for the allotted time, manage their time, and clean up/return materials after each activity. Students are expected to show respect for their teacher, other students, their artwork and the artwork of others. Students are to take care of the use of rooms, tools, and equipment. Disruptive behavior, cuts, lates, and refusal to work will be documented and deducted from the marking period grade.
- 10% WRITTEN WORK, HOMEWORK, TEST, & QUIZZES: Students are expected to do written work, critiques, research, and homework assignments. Students are responsible to review and study class text materials to prepare for quizzes, tests, and final exams. It is the student’s responsibility to make up a quiz or test on the day they return to school after being absent.
